Neither old nor a rare sight, but even 20 years ago it was already “as popular as currywurst”, as the German car magazine “autobild” once headlined. The BMW E46, one of the best-selling vehicles of its time, was built around the turn of the millennium. Two years ago, around 150,000 of them were still found on Germany’s roads. In addition, the E46 engine is very robust and the body is particularly well protected against corrosion.
