They’re out there all year long – you just notice them more as the nights get longer. Every October, the “Aktion Licht-Test” (Light Check Campaign) — organised for decades by the ZDK (Zentralverband Deutsches Kraftfahrzeuggewerbe, German Motor Trade Association) and the DVW (Deutsche Verkehrswacht, German Road Safety Council) — reveals how many vehicles in Germany are driving around with inadequate lighting.
In 2024, for example, one in four cars (25.3%) inspected during this large-scale free check-up showed defects in their lighting. Two years earlier, the figure was just under 28%.
Some drivers might think, “What’s that going to cost me this time?” – and skip a trip to the workshop. But often, it just takes a few quick and inexpensive adjustments to get the low beams back to the correct height. And even a loose headlight doesn’t always mean it has to be replaced. In many cases, it’s enough to fit new brackets, screws, or clips that broke or went missing after a minor bump or simply due to material fatigue.
We naturally have the right repair kits in our range. Just take a look in our online spare parts catalogue or on our website.
