New to the range: Oil kits for multi-plate clutches

Let’s start with the good news. Some time ago, the German automotive magazine “KÜS Trend-Tacho" reported that many motorists take oil changes seriously. When asked, “Have you ever postponed an oil change even though it was due?”, 50% of respondents answered, “No, I always follow the recommended service intervals.” So far, so good. The other 50%, however, admitted that they had delayed an oil change at least once for various reasons. And that's the less encouraging news. Whether it’s engine oil or the oil used in a multi-plate clutch system, regular oil changes in accordance with the vehicle manufacturer’s specifications are essential. During normal operation, the oil gradually becomes contaminated with wear particles, metal shavings and other impurities that reduce its effectiveness.

What many people fail to realise is that the filter should always be replaced at the same time, as unfiltered solids can clog the pump’s strainer. This, in turn, slows down the oil flow and ultimately leads to increased wear on the pump or a fault in the four-wheel drive system. Seals and bolts should also be replaced at the same time. This is because they too age or can be damaged during removal.
