From Hamburg’s harbour district to the international aftermarket

Sometimes a success story like that of Jürgen Liebisch GmbH begins quite unremarkably: With two people, plenty of confidence and a small business in Hamburg’s harbour district. Since the company was founded in 1975, it has steadily developed with its own brand, AIC Germany, into an internationally successful partner for the independent automotive spare parts market.

At the same time, the company keenly embraces new technologies. At the distribution centre, which began operations in Glinde near Hamburg in 2016, autonomous vehicle systems and an automated small-parts warehouse are among the technologies that ensure efficient processes. Furthermore, products are tested and further developed in the company’s own workshop.

With over 13,500 items, AIC Germany has a broad product range. This ranges from standard spare parts to products that are not readily available everywhere. This is because AIC Germany also excels in niche markets: Many special parts are not readily available from wholesalers and also offer an attractively priced alternative to original equipment (OE) products.

The smartKits provide added convenience. Pre-assembled steering knuckles and gearbox oil kits, for example, bundle all the necessary components under a single item number. This simplifies the ordering process, saves time and reduces the risk of important parts missing during installation. Around 70 steering knuckle and more than 60 gearbox oil smartKITS are already available.

This makes AIC Germany synonymous with tested quality, intelligent repair solutions and personalised partnerships, from which wholesalers and garages stand to benefit in equal measure.
