Sliding car doors are simply practical

Not only when getting in and out of tight parking spaces, but also when loading the vehicle. And although they reduce the risk of accidents, they have never really caught on in “normal” cars.

For larger vehicles, however, such as camper vans, it is hard to imagine life without them. And it’s no wonder: Smooth-running as they ideally are – despite their considerable weight of around 20 kg - they make the “living area” very conveniently accessible over a wide area.

Those wanting to enjoy a smoothly sliding door for a long time should not forget to check the guide rail, the roller lever and the rollers regularly, clean them and treat them with water-resistant, resin-free and acid-free grease. After all, moisture, dirt and general knocks blows and sand and salt in winter tend to lead to corrosion. In addition, the rollers wear out due to the constant movements and the high weight they carry. As the components interact, they start to scrape, become jammed due to buckling or heavy rusting. And at some point, the door runs stiffly, it has too much play, sits too loosely or does not close completely. So, when nothing seems to work anymore: We have 79 roller guides with and without brackets for 5510 applications in our range.
